You must be knowing about a feature named “Do not Disturb” on many of the Android smartphones. Well, the feature has been there on Android operating System of Google since past several years. This feature has been very handy to set your smartphone into a custom silent mode.
So, your device is going to be on silent, and you will only alert while receiving the calls you have permitted. In this article, I will show you how you can use Do Not Disturb mode in Android Oreo.
Not all Android smartphone users know much about the Do Not Disturb (DND) mode on Android. If you had been an Apple iPhone user who has just migrated to Android, then it is the similar feature what we have seen on iOS. To start using this awesome Do Not Disturb feature, read this blog and follow the guidelines given below:
  1. Pull the notification panel down and click on the do not disturb option. You will find it as a circle with horizontal lines in the center.
  2. Here you will need to click on the drop-down button in order to adjust how Do Not Disturb operates. You will find it beneath the quick toggle icon.
Note: By default, the mode only changes everything except alarm, but you can change this.
  1. If you are looking forward to changing the behavior of Do Not Disturb feature, you need to tap on the Total Silence or Priority Only. The Priority Only option expands allowed notification to events, reminders, and callers you identify.
  2. If you want to set up Do Not Disturb mode on a timer, you will need to tap on the time button; then you can use the plus and minus keys for modifying the duration accordingly.
  3. If you want to make further changes, you will need to tap on the More Settings option. It is generally found at the bottom of the notification panel.
  4. Now from this screen the definition of Priority Only mode can be changed to deny or allow specific alerts, and also set the automatic rules. So basically you can set a lot more priorities according to your needs.
  5. So if you want to turn off Do Not Disturb mode manually, click on the volume buttons of your phone, then on the next screen that appears you will have to tap on the Turn Off Now option.
Note: However, if you’ve set a time duration or an automatic rule, then the Do Not Disturb mode will end at the predetermined time.
